Default anaconda - unhandled exception

Running the boot.iso from rawhide (dated 1/14/08 8:12) to do a network install
produces an "unhandled exception" while in the "retrieving installation
information" phase (after formating the disk). In the screen to save the bug or
debug information, the local disk is grayed out so nothing could be saved.

what now?

I should have mentioned, its often possible in that situation with the installer
to go to the shell on vt2 and mount a flash drive to copy error output.

Thanks for the reminder about going to the VT.

Ran into same problem last night as well. Except I was able to save the
debug output to a remote server (one beside me) in case needed (looks
like you already found out though).

One side note though, is X actually worked this time (ATI X1300 card),
and it could see the drives. So moving in the right direction, least
compared to last few days.

Keep it up Jeremy, ya bout got it licked!

Not to be a jerk or anything, but you're aware at least five other
people work on anaconda, right? In fact if you were to check out the
source history, you'd see that I committed the fix for that bug (the
libraries out of the nss package changed location, requiring us to
modify the stage2 build script) and that David built the version
containing the fix.

Having the team information listed and who does what might help

And I'm not even really around this month (other than sporadic looking
at email). Luckily, we've got a team of other rock stars these days[1]
helping out on anaconda these days and it doesn't all just fall to me
anymore.

Jeremy

[1] And have for a while at this point. Keep up Mike! :-)
