You have just committed a source tarball into cvs.

I would appreciate it, if people were putting such tarballs into the
look-aside cache instead.

In case it is the only tarball that is used,
make new-sources FILES=liberation-fonts.tar.gz
will do this. There is some information about this at:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackageMaintainers/UpdatingPackageHowTo
