Default Orphaning kadu

Hi,

after changing job and place of living I have no more time to maintain
kadu, sorry. That's the main reason why I have decided to orphan this
package.

Regards,
Dawid

I have a potential maintainer for this package, but he's not sponsored
yet. I'm willing to sponsor him after he gets acquainted with our packaging
guidelines, however, so if anyone wants to step up as maintainer now,
be aware that there's a willing (co-)maintainer in making.

Regards,
R.

I was thinking about taking this, but since I'm primarily a
Gnome/empathy user I guess I'm not the most optimal choice. On the other
hand, I could update kadu to the latest version in the meantime. This
would mean updating libgadu as well, though.

There have been complaints on forum.fedora.pl already, so if you think
it's a non-disruptive update then go ahead. libgadu has been updated
already. It's in updates-testing at the moment, but if you give it a +1
karma, then it'll get pushed to stable. Otherwise I will push it in a day
or two.

R.

I'll try to get it done tomorrow, last time I looked the kadu spec
looked very convoluted.

The person who wants to take over maintainership has submitted an updated
package here:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=573294

I guess you can use that after reviewing the changes. I'll try to do
a formal review over the weekend unless you want to do it.

I took a stab at it myself before I saw this mail. Anyway, some more
updates needed, the package from the review won't build on fedora >= 13,
for instance. Also, the installation path of some modules is wrong.
I posted my version in the review.
Also, I asked for an override tag for libgadu in F12 (ticket 3526).
Should I commit the files to CVS, or wait for the review to be done?

Well, formally, since it's orphaned and more than 3 months have passed
since the last change, it needs a re-review. Also I'm still waiting for
a reply from Radek.

R.

OK. I'll forward the patches upstream in the meantime then.

You need to orphan F-12 and devel as well.
