minimal install - was starting Fedora Server SIG
I have successfully tested booting a minimal Fedora system that should
be able to install more packages. Here are the steps for "bootstrapping" such system: - use USB flashdisk > cca 600MB (installed pkgs + yum cache), format a partition as ext3, mount as /mnt - yum --installroot=/mnt --disablerepo=* --enablerepo=development install grub kernel initscripts yum plymouth-text-and-details-only - install grub to the MBR of the flashdisk - create /etc/fstab (/ + /proc + /sys) - run mkinitrd --with-usb - set password for root - boot Dan -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |
