I consider this bug very very critical https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=469591 for the following reasons 1. we have't this bug in F9 2. we claim a Glitchless audio experience http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/GlitchFreeAudio ie. to the end user "when you did not claim this thing it was smooth and when you claim it, you lost it!" 3. I don't listen to Music, maybe when it skips a tune it will be missed by ear considering the noisy music of those times but I listen to lectures and speaks, it will be very annoying when it skips a "no" or "not" in the middle of a sentence I'm not underestimating the good effort behind pulse but please make that bug assigned and let's inspect it more PS. My sound card is ESS (snd_es1938) Yes, I get this too with Intel ICH and Amarok or Juk and rawhide...plus I couldn't get youtube to work with sound with a player running (paused), despite libflashsupport.{i386,x86_64} installed. So i uninstalled pulseaudio for now and it's all ok. -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |

My two cents go to the kernel being responsible for the sound skipping part. -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |

I have a question about
> If you are using Flash 10, you should *not* install libflashsupport. do you mean it or do you mean "need not" anyway the problem is even in nonflash player -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |

I have the same problem on my Realtek HighDefinition Audio.
Skipping stopped when you boot Fedora with "nomodeset" parameter. -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |

are you sure!! AFAIK modeset is about video not audio
after the last update to the kernel I hear lesser skips (you may thought it's the nomodeset thing) but the problem is still there -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |

> are you sure!! AFAIK modeset is about video not audio I have had all sorts of problems with audio skipping while graphics are happening going back to F9, and still happening in F10. Playing music in rhythmbox is flawless. Until I end up on a web page with craptons of animated ads. Or try and watch youtube videos. Skip studder skip. After 11 years, VGA still kills: http://alsa.linux.or.jp/misc/vgakills.txt This is with a Radeon 9600XT with the Fedora r300 drivers. Although I don't seem to have problems if I bypass pulseaudio... > after the last update to the kernel I hear lesser skips > (you may thought it's the nomodeset thing) > but the problem is still there -- fedora-devel-list mailing list fedora-devel-list@redhat.com https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-devel-list |
