From Fedora 18 (ie. GNOME 3.6) onwards GNOME Online Accounts lets you
configure your MS Exchange account via EWS, which you can then access using
Evolution:
https://live.gnome.org/ThreePointFive/Features/GoaExchange

However, for Evolution to work, the evolution-ews package is needed.

Any objections to editing comps.xml so that it is installed by default? Its
size is 307 kB.

Don't think so. EWS uses XML and HTTP, so should not be a problem.
