gnome shell compatible vga cards
Hello,
I am wondering if: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV630 [Radeon HD 2600 Series] is acceptable for the new gnome shell? It seems to work sometimes, and at other times not. For example, it was working in rawhide (I could get a shell, anyway), but now it does not work, nor has it ever worked in F15Alpha TC1. Is there a "better" vga card for the shell in the radeon series? Is there an utility that can be run to check if the VGA card is supported in gnome 3. TIA -- Regards, OldFart -- desktop mailing list desktop@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop |

I should probably set up a tracker for 'Shell doesn't work' bugs. What happens when it fails? Do you get the fallback mode, or an uglier failure? -- Adam Williamson Fedora QA Community Monkey IRC: adamw | Fedora Talk: adamwill AT fedoraproject DOT org http://www.happyassassin.net -- desktop mailing list desktop@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop |

In F15Alpha tc1, mutter falls over. There is already a bz for the mutter failure. Will test more after todays branched-report updates. Thanks for the reply. -- Regards, OldFart -- desktop mailing list desktop@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop |

You can report against mesa or xorg-x11-drv-ati but make sure airlied is CCed in. -- Adam Williamson Fedora QA Community Monkey IRC: adamw | Fedora Talk: adamwill AT fedoraproject DOT org http://www.happyassassin.net -- desktop mailing list desktop@lists.fedoraproject.org https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/desktop |
