Anybody tried making GIMP 2.7/2.8 packages and making them available
via http://repos.fedorapeople.org/ ?
I would love to test out GIMP 2.7/2.8 on Fedora but haven't seen any
RPM packages made for Fedora. If anybody knows of them please send me
the link.

there is something wrong with the "Shift" key on your keyboard.
Personally, until moving my desktop to F14 Beta I used GIMP 2.7.1 for a
while and kind of hated it, is early and unpolished, not something I
would want to push to an unsuspecting user. Will try again with 2.7.2.

Luya deserves it for sure, not sure about wanting to take beer or

I saw Meet the GIMP and Rolf says it is great, and I trust his
judgement, but will also take your comment, it boils down that I need
to test it out my self but at work I have F12 so when I came home I
can test it out properly.

I seam to have problems installin GIMP 2.7.1, look at this:
# rpm -ivh /home/beta/Downloads/gimp-2.7.1-1.fc13.i686.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]

error: unpacking of archive failed on file
/usr/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/python-console.py;4cb72bca: cpio: read
failed - Bad file descriptor
Any ideas why?

That package is broken on on my fedorapeople.org page. I built a new
one on koji shortly on this address:

I also made a Gimp 2.7 repo for Fedora 14 release
(http://repos.fedorapeople.org/repos/luya/gimp/)
The ability to group layer on this version caused me to use daily. I
personally do not care about single mode, only the tabbing of images is
worth. Hopefully Gimp team will implement a non-destructive made with
the so called adjustment layers and native support of CMYK for printing
process (Krita does a better job) although Separate plugins sorta helps.
