I found pungi does not require createrepo >= 0.4.11, although it needs
that; attached is one of the smallest patches, ever ;-)

pypungi._doRunCommand(repoview, self.logger)
shouldn't stop the building on error.

on /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/pypungi/pungi.py
# setup the repoview call

I build isos with livna repo. And repoview give some errors but those
errors shouln't stop the building .
