*My* mailing lists *tell* you that you have to subscribe to post. This
is how most lists work these days. The message I actually got did not
say "please subscribe to post" it said "you are not allowed to post".

You mean like "Beefy Miracle?" Seriously, I always thought that Fedora
18's code name should be a celebration of Life.

"Whoohoo, have a drink child. You're 18"

Sticking with the stereotype

Can we start trimming the responses to the relevant bits please?

Sounds like a trashy porno name...

It seems that list was not configured to send such a note, it was set
to the default reject message. I have corrected it.

If you run into any problems with lists here, do mail the list owners,
and likely they can correct things.

I don't know if you mean a proposal for how the names would be

determined in general or if you mean a proposal for a specific theme,

but I hope this covers what you are looking for (please let me know if

not):

https://fedoraproject.org/w/index.php?title=Suggestions_for_Fedora_Codename_Th eme

Some proposals have already been done: *https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Future_Release_Naming#Proposals
There is to understand if exist any margin*of*acceptability or if we are well-disposed to change completely the Release Naming rules

I fully agree with that. I was thinking in this exactly naming scheme
Scientists, explorers, writers, artists...
I would like to have a Fedora Newton or a Fedora Dali.

You can submit such names and campaign for them now. If the naming
scheme ends up restricted to some smaller class these names or other
brilliant names may fall outside the allowable naming scheme. Aside
from the fun factor this is one reason I like a very broad definition
of allowable names even if the is-a relationship is changed to
something else.

I also think both of those suggestions would make great themes and
having the themes change adds a lot of excitement to our releases
(also a lot of frustration sometimes I know).

Unfortunately, while there are several 'famous people' schemes proposed
on the wiki, you'll note they're in the section vetoed by legal. I think
using names of people is problematic for that reason, so we need to
avoid it AFAIK.
