--fatclient Ubuntu --highfat

Let me know if there are issues, as I have not tested the hardy version yet...

I'm doing it right now in my KVM Hardy LTSP5 VM. I have P4 and Asus Eee

When I change dhcpd.conf for i386, same P4 boots just fine. Sound and
USB-stick works, too.

Try adding another RC File that executes /usr/sbin/gdm and rebuild the image.
I believe for some reason on Hardy its not triggering gdm in the right
runlevel. I remember having to do that manually, if that is the case
and it works, let me know and I'll add it to the script... if not I'll
investigate what could be getting stuck in the runlevels...

Well, I did this.

First I disabled bluetooth. Not sure if that helps, but client passed
that point.

fati386 chroot - /etc/default/bluetooth

# start bluetooth on boot?
# compatibility note: If this variable is not found bluetooth will
# start
BLUETOOTH_ENABLED=0
---

Then I did this.

I added file /etc/startgdm.sh to the fati386 chroot.

/etc/init.d/gdm restart
/usr/sbin/gdm

I borrow that file from here:

https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuLTSP/LTSPFatClients

Then I updated image:

sudo ltsp-update-image -a fati386 -b /opt/ltsp -p 2001
---

Then I was almost there. When I waited GDM to start I got this:

cdpinger[4287]: segfault at 6f72...

---
This seems to be some kind of bug.

http://www.mail-archive.com/ltsp-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net/msg35042.html
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=436913

My P4 has no CDROM, no Floppy, no HD.

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.

Well, my Asus Eee of course has kernel panic because of lacking atl2
driver. So I try to update fati386 for Asus Eee.

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.

I have updated i386 image for Asus Eee. Both server and i386 has same
kernel version - 2.6.24-19-generic

But fati386 has 2.6.24-16-generic. It is not same as server side - so I
think that I can't update fati386 for Asus Eee?

Is it OK add hardy-update sources in fati386 sources.list? Now it has
only these lines.

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu hardy main restricted universe
multiverse
deb http://security.ubuntu.com//ubuntu hardy main restricted universe
multiverse

And btw. i386 has local (fi) sources.

Best Regards Asmo Koskinen.
