If you have fixed ip-numbers, you can shutdown client remotely in the
chroot.

asmok@ubuntu:~$ ssh root@192.168.1.244 'shutdown -h now'

asmok@ubuntu:~$

This is not what you asked about logout user, but useful in some cases.
