Default Edubuntu Artwork for 11.04

Hi!

Earlier in this cycle we talked to John Baer to put together a spec for
artwork in Edubuntu:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Artwork/Specs/0006_Edubuntu_Natty_Wallpaper

It produced the following results so far:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/uawt-6/

Some are nice and I think we should include it in the system, but in my
humble opinion they're not really suitable for a default wallpaper.

Martin Owens (http://doctormo.org/) is willing to create us a wallpaper
as well, he's willing to commit a lot of work on making something really
good, but (understandably) doesn't want to do that in a competition
style. I think we should take him up on it, if only for increasing our
chances of having a real nice wallpaper with the final relase.

If we go ahead and take him up on his offer, he'll need the following
information from us:

* Solid things that we want (and don't want)
* Definition, concept and mood

What I propose is:

1. We contact the artwork team and notifying them of the wallpapers
we'll include in the system from the current submissions.
2. Take Martin up on creating a default wallpaper for Edubuntu

If there's no particular objections by Friday I'll just go ahead with it.

I'll kickstart some discussion by adding what I think we want for the
wallpaper, but since I'm not particularly the target market for
Edubuntu, we'll definitely want to get at least a bit larger input on this.

Solid things that we want (and don't want):

Want:
* Wallpaper that looks good with our current
panels (current wallpaper is too light and low contrast)
* Pleasant colours and textures that aren't too noisy
(allows us to put icons over it or text on login screens, etc)

Do not want:
* The usual clichés that we've seen a million times,
blackboards, books, worms with apples, world maps, etc

Definition, concept and mood:

Michael Hall suggested on IRC that we avoice something cartoonish.
Personally I liked Martin's cartoonish debian card
(http://doctormo.org/2011/02/06/congratulations-debian/), but imho there
is a fine line between something that looks cartoonish and childlike and
something that just looks childish, ideally we should have a default
that's fun enough for someone who is six years old and conservative
enough for an 18 year old.

This definition, concept and mood part is tough so if you have
suggestions, then please expand by Friday!
