Hi Edubuntu Developers

The Ubuntu artwork team is offering assistance for any artwork needs we
have.

I think that this is great and we should take advantage of it and put
together a specification for a wallpaper so long.

There's probably a whole lot of other things we could use them for
though! So if you have any ideas or suggestions feel free to make use of
the process below.

Jonathan,

I would like to open up the creation of the Edubuntu default wallpaper
to a wider audience by adding it as a task to our list.

Of coarse everyone from your community is welcome to participate.

The first step of our design process is the creation of a specification
("spec"). The goal of the spec is to inform an individual who desires to
create submissions what the desired outcome is, explain the submittal
process, and identify important milestones such as due date. I can help
with this task.

Identified individuals from your community will decide on the best
choice. In fact it can be the same process used today.

If agreed, the steps include the following.

1. Add a task to the Artwork List.

2. Create a specification for the desired outcome.

3. Invite individuals to create submissions.

Submission are stored on Flickr and identified by task.

This has been very successful for Ubuntu.

4. The Edubuntu Community selects the successful candidate.

This usually means exposure on external sites like OMG Ubuntu, Planet
Ubuntu, and numerous other Blogs.

5. The selected submission(s) is packaged.

I plan to explain some concepts and current problems with some
screenshots. If anyone wants to add any comments or ideas, feel free to
