I've downloaded debian-6.0.6-i386-netinst.iso and would like to verify
the download. Can anyone please point the way to the "hash" code to
verify?
I read the FAQ located at:
Start at Home Page:
Getting Debian -->
Download a small installation image -->
Installing Debian via the Internet -->
there is a section titled, "Small CD's" -->
I clicked the link titled, "For details, please see: Network install
from a minimal CD" -->
scroll to bottom for FAQ
The FAQ section provided a question titled,
"How can I verify the downloaded ISO images and written optical media?
However there was no link or listing for the hash codes.
May I kindly suggest that Debian provide the "hash code" at the
location same where the user downloads the netinst.iso file? or
perhaps there is a reason for not doing so that I am not aware.
Thank you

I do not find them there either, so I can not help you with that CD.
When I looked at the links for the standard install CDs, though, I see
listings of the hash sums in the same directory as the iso files.
I am referring to any of the download links on:
<http://www.debian.org/CD/http-ftp/index.en.html#stable>

Go to
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/6.0.6/multi-arch/iso-cd/ .
Chose your preferred flavor.
That is the location I'm directed to when clicking "Download
Debian 6.0(32/64-bit PC Network installer)" from
http://www.debian.org/ .

It usually is. In fact, when I downloaded that very image a few weeks ago,
both the MD5 & SHA-1 Checksums were with the .iso file. Maybe choose another
mirror?

Hi Johan.. to kindly clarify, I was searching for the hash for the "downloaded
iso file". Not the install CD. Thank you for helping Johan. I found it here:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/iso-cd/MD5SUMS

Hash for netinst.iso file

Hi Richard, I believe that link was for a different file than what I
downloaded. My iso file is for i386 32bit not AMD_64. Thank you kindly
for searching.
I googled, "hash for debian-6.0.6-i386-netinst.iso" and found this:
http://cdimage.debian.org/debian-cd/current/i386/iso-cd/
I then chose "MD5SUMS" and searched down the list for my iso file name
and found the hash (below).

Interesting. My only option was to download the .iso install file. No
MD5SUMS or SHA1SUMS attached. I understand if you downloaded a .zip
file that yes, it would normally have the MD5SUMS and SHA1SUMS
included in a .txt file.
Did you download a .zip file? If so, I would appreciate the link..
Thank you very much for helping Lisi.
