Default Can not startx anymore after the laptop was forced to turn off

The fact that you're seeing the logo means that the driver is working.
It's probably not the right one for the kernel you're running. Make
sure you have the appropriate kernel header packages installed, then
try 'dpkg-reconfigure nvidia-kernel-dkms'.
