Default bash history

I use alot of console windows in X as well as having shells and ssh shells open
sometimes for the same user. I notice that bash doesn't save every command
immediately and loses the history from simultaneous bash sessions, when they are
not the last session to close.

Is that normal? Or is there some sort of caching that I can configure better?

Thanks
Adam

Yes, it's normal. I don't know if you can reconfigure it (hopefully).

I haven't found any workaround to that in my days of using bash. My solution to
this and many other problem with bash I had, was to switch to zsh. Found it to be
really nicer, especially if you're a console junkie - like me ;-)
