Let's see. IIRC you live in the UK, correct? I had no trouble zooming in
on London with aerial photos. You did click on aerial map, right?
I just tried Google maps at Brad's suggestion. It's even better.
Try again. I got this shot of Buckingham Palace:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Buckingham+Pa lace,+London,+United+Kingdom&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=49.310476,114.169922&ie=UTF8&hq=Buc kingham+Palace&hnear=Buckingham+Palace,+London,+UK &ll=51.500732,-0.141862&spn=0.002384,0.006968&t=h&z=18

Say hello to Her Majesty for me the next time you stop in for tea, will you? ;-)

:-)

There is obviously a problem with either me or my box or both. I am running
out of time to solve this particular problem, but I clearly need to solve the
general problem. :-(

But _after_ some food, a break, and perhaps a night's sleep.

Thanks all of you for your help.

No need to "su", just install with your common user.

Thanks, Camaleón. I'll have another go tomorrow.
