(I had 2D running previously, not 3D.) I fetched the previous version of the driver from the AMD Catalyst site and installed it after purging the Debian package. The script said there was an error of some kind but nevertheless fglrx worked again at 1600x1050 in 2D. ATI X1600 Radeon Missing 1600x1050 Resolution After "fglrx" Upgrade
Hi Georgi,
I do have an AMD64 system, and I'm attaching my xorg.conf. It was generated by the aticonfig program and has an external monitor configured. I hope it helps, David On Sun, 2008-01-06 at 14:29 +0200, Georgi Naplatanov wrote: > David Jantzen wrote: > > Hey All, > > > > I installed some upgrades yesterday to my testing/unstable installation. > > The relevant packages changed (as far as I understand) were: > > > > fglrx-control > > fglrx-driver > > fglrx-kernel-src > > > > Apt uninstalled my kernel module compiled for 3D support, and so I > > recompiled and installed again from the new source with > > > > m-a a-i fglrx > > > > After reboot, my only usable resolution (1600x1050) is unavailable. > > Even the Catalyst control center believes it's not there. Hi Anthony, thanks for the tip. I'm downloading version 7.11 from the
ATI website. Which packages did you purge prior to reinstalling? All of the fglrx packages or just the driver? Thanks, David -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-REQUEST@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact listmaster@lists.debian.org |
