Window Maker
Hi,
Am I the only one wondering where Window Maker's Themes went? If you google it, you're taken to a place on Freshmeat, which doesn't seem to have ANY Window Maker Themes. And if you try the Window Maker page, you are given the same link to nothing that you're looking for. I like Window Maker, and I like how many nice themes it had, The problem is that way back years ago when you could actually find the themes for it I never thought to save all of them on a disk or something so I could still use them! I guess I thought it wouldn't be so hard to find.... I did save a few here and there on my Server, but it's like only a few from years ago, and the vast majority of them I had at one point are lost. So now I'm like "Well, OK, I have a couple I saved, and I can't seem to find any web page anywhere that actually has any.... " I just got done, like 5 minutes ago, grabbing a SUSE Linux 8.2 Professional DVD, popping it into a machine, and copying the RPMs for the Window Maker Themes SUSE came with, which is like 12 of them or so, because it's literally the only thing I could think of to get them. Now I of course have to take the RPMs apart somehow and re-upload those themes to my server but at least it's a start. What happened exactly? Window Maker is fairly popular from what I've seen, but no themes seem to be found anywhere... Is there any on any Debian servers at all? I can't find any of them. -- http://www.myspace.com/farmacyofhorror Digital Horror Punk - Music I make! Yea after I sent the message, I searched again, saw that, and looked at them to see if they were real or not. Some of them do work, which I downloaded, even though a lot of them are mostly space stuff or nature, but I grabbed some anyway. There isn't very many there. -- http://www.myspace.com/farmacyofhorror Digital Horror Punk - Music I make! I'm looking as we speak and there seems to be some nice noes there! I'm going to grab all of those and see if they work, but thank you for finding a working theme page! I'm also going to try and get the RPMs unpacked somehow, and see if I can at least grab those too from SUSE since SUSE did come with some great ones by default. I'm kind of shocked Debian doesn't come with more. -- http://www.myspace.com/farmacyofhorror Digital Horror Punk - Music I make! I just got curious on a whim, does anyone out there love Window Maker as
much as I do? It is what I find myself using most often with my Xubuntu install. Justin -- xubuntu-users mailing list xubuntu-users@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/xubuntu-users |

Justin Hi Justin, Yes, there is someone out there. I fell in love with wm when I started using Linux in 2001 (SuSE 8.0, the beginning of KDE 3). I'm familiar with Linux on a surficial level. So I do not need an "integrated desktop environment" to feed the right data into the 5 or 6 programs I use to use. Nevertheless it's always nice to have such a system for other users together with a graphical file manager being able to show preview icons. IMHO, all that fuzz about KDE and Gnome is a ridiculous waste of development time, totally overstretched and overestimated.
