Where's Catalina Tomcat Directory?

Actually I've done this.

I deploy sample.war with tomcat manager. Then I see it shows on
/usr/share/tomcat5.5/webapps Unfortunately I don't have .war on my
webapplication which is I want to deploy. I try to deploy it with
directory option. But still won't work.

On Windows, I deploy it just as simple as copying it to Catalina
webapps directory.

I found looking in /etc/init.d/<application> this case tomcat5.5
usually has all the info
