Default linux-image 2.6.25 and .../BAT1/info

Hello,
Why if I use kernel 2.6.22 the file /proc/acpi/battery/BAT1/info exists
and when I use kernel 2.6.25 it doesn't exist ?

(btw acpitool doesn't work with the kerne 2.6.25:

Battery status : <not available>
AC adapter : <not available>
Thermal zone 1 : ok, 38 C )

In /usr/share/doc/linux-doc-2.6.25/Documentation/feature-removal-schedule.txt.gz

"The following is a list of files and features that are going to be
removed in the kernel source tree. Every entry should contain what
exactly is going away, why it is happening, and who is going to be doing
the work. When the feature is removed from the kernel, it should also
be removed from this file."
[..]
What: ACPI procfs interface
When: July 2008
Why: ACPI sysfs conversion should be finished by January 2008.
ACPI procfs interface will be removed in July 2008 so that
there is enough time for the user space to catch up.
Who: Zhang Rui <rui.zhang@intel.com>

On my system (standard debian 686 kernel) :
$ grep CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS /boot/config-2.6.25-2-686
CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS=y
# CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER is not set

For the same reason, I assume.

So, file bugs against the tools you use.

suppoert 2.6.24+, otherwise you've to check for backports.

For the record, this has been fixed in acpi_0.09-6 (still in unstable)
The bug was http://bugs.debian.org/462305 .
