how do i package a downloaded program
Hi Darren,
You probably have the google earth software with the .bin extension. So, follow these steps to install it:
Turn the file executable with the command:
chmod +x GoogleEarthLinux.bin
After this, use the ./ prefix before the package name to run it:
./GoogleEarthLinux.bin
In your OpenOffice CD, you should have the .deb files to install it. Simply open a terminal and go to the directory where the .deb files are and type:
dpkg -i *.deb
To install the OO suite.
A hug!!!
