Default Bug#481162: NFS server not starting anymore (nfsd: disagrees about version of symbol nfsd_debug)

Package: linux-image-2.6.18-6-686
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-18etch4

Hi!
Since I upgraded the kernel package on my etch distribution (i386),
the nfs-kernel-server service won't start again:

host# dmsg
...
nfsd: disagrees about version of symbol nfsd_debug
nfsd: Unknown symbol nfsd_debug
... (all remaining stuff relative to iptables blocking incomming connections)

host# /etc/init.d/nfs-kernel-server start
FATAL: Error inserting nfsd
(/lib/modules/2.6.18-6-686/kernel/fs/nfsd/nfsd.ko): Unknown symbol in
module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
* Not starting NFS kernel daemon: no support in current kernel.

For the record:

host# uname -a
Linux thor 2.6.18-6-686 #1 SMP Thu May 8 07:34:27 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
host# dpkg -s libc6 | grep ^Version
Version: 2.3.6.ds1-13etch5

Hope there is enough information for you to find the issue.
Yours,
Jacob.

a reboot should fix your issue.

Sorry, but it does not :-(
I get exactly the same message when I type "dmesg" after the rebooting process is over (for the record, of course I had already rebooted the machine after I upgraded the kernel), and I still do not see any [nfsd] processes using "ps -aux".

Yours,
Jacob.
