Default Bug#480739: virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-1-686: Fails with a symbol error

Package: virtualbox-ose-modules-2.6.24-1-686
Version: 2.6.24+1.5.6-dfsg-7
Severity: important

When I run Virtualbox I get:

/usr/lib/virtualbox//VBoxSVC: symbol lookup error: /usr/lib/virtualbox/VBoxXML.so: undefined symbol:
_ZN11xalanc_1_1016XalanTransformer10initializeERN1 1xercesc_2_713MemoryManagerE

And a pop-up message saying:

Receptor RC:

I'll try to compile from source now.

Downgrading to libxalan110 1.10-3.2 seems to fix this problem.

apt-get install libxalan110=1.10-3.2

It is possible that this bug should be reassigned to libxalan110.
