Sorry, no that didn't helped at all.
Upgraded to linux-image-2.6.25-2-686 and updated to latest packages in testing
branch of all other packages but nothing changed. There's still no PCM output
to the speaker.

please send in more information, alsa has a debug script:

that collects interesting info, currently there is not much in that bug
report

I had a similar similar problem when upgrading from Etch to Lenny with
the cmipci driver; mixer settings were not preserved during upgrades.
I my case I needed to reenable "IEC598 Output Switch" to get SP/DIF line out
back on again. Could you check your mixer settings / ALSA configuration, whether
everything is configured correctly?
