Default Bug#686211: Please allow translation of all debconf templates

Package: linux-base
Version: 3.5
Severity: serious
Tags: patch
Justification: Policy 3.9.1

Hi,

A small typo in one of the templates (missing prepending underscore)
prevent one screen to be translated. It would be pointless to fix this
without a proper call for translation, so I'm proposing to take care of
it on your behalf, starting in two days (or sooner if you ACK this
proposal).

d-l10n-english is xCC, in case they believe a proper review would worth
it (but I doubt it given the “These templates have been reviewed by the
debian-l10n-english team” header already present in those files).

Regards

David

I added this error message after that initial review (in linux-2.6
version 2.6.32-16 vs 2.6.32-13). I don't know why I didn't properly
mark it as translatable.

Ben.

I just sent a call for translation update, translation should be ready
within a week, I'll give you a notice then (we really don't want to
lower the status of the 8 language that should be 100% translated in
Wheezy for example), in order to upload a fixed package for Wheezy. I
prepared the commits (attached) and volunteer to update translations
directly in the repository if that's OK with you (just asked to join the
Alioth project).

David

Looks like the non-ascii chars in the files you sent were corrupted.

They seem fine on the web interface of the BTS:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=15;filename=0001-Add-missing-prepending-underscore-in-templates-Close.patch;att=1;bug=686211
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=15;filename=0002-Update-POT-and-PO-files-debconf-updatepo.patch;att=2;bug=686211

Reattached compressed for the sake of MUAs that assume attached files
are encoded in ASCII unless proven otherwise.

Thanks.

These messages don't change very often, and most of them can be removed
after the wheezy release. So I would rather not add yet another very
occasional committer.

Ben.
