Default Bug#681089: Same problem on a Dell PowerEdge R300 with a Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5722 NIC

Hi.

*

We have the same problem on a Dell PowerEdge R300 with a Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5722 NIC.

After a day, the NIC stops working and we have many dropped packets by the interface in ifconfig :

*

RX packets:211562 errors:0 dropped:253867 overruns:0 frame:0

TX packets:84359 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0

Collisions:0 lg file transmission:1000

RX bytes:29148660 (27.7 MiB) TX bytes:21437374 (20.4 MiB)

Interruption:16

*

We also have this line in dmesg :

*

tg3 0000:01:00.0: vpd r/w failed. This is likely a firmware bug on this device. Contact the card vendor for a firmware update.

*

Debian Wheezy

Kernel : version 3.2.0-2-amd64

Module tg3 : version: 3.121, firmware-version: 5722-v3.08, ASFIPMI v6.02

*

Regards.
