running programs is impossible, so I have to turn the machine off/
reboot it.
The hard drive of this computer uses a Hidden Protected Area - this
feature seems to be connected with the error message above (at least
ThinkWiki says so, cf. <http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/
Problems_with_ACPI_suspend-to-ram>, last entry there).
The problem went away with linux-image-2.6.22-3-686, but
unfortunately it reappeared when I upgraded to linux-image-2.6.24-1-686.
