There is a patch solving this problem:

Using this patch I was able to solve the problem for us.

This issue was redirected to the upstream project, so I posted the
patches there:
http://bugzilla.openvz.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2142#c3

Our test packages are avaiable for interested users:
deb http://deb.clazzes.org/debian squeeze-contrib-1 main

I'd of course love to see our solution beeing integrated in Debian.
