Package: linux-image-2.6.24-1-686
Version: 2.6.24-5
Severity: important
To get a kernel oops, it is sufficient to do a "modprobe capidrv; rmmod
capidrv" as root.
This happens even if no ISDN card is plugged into the computer; I tried
it on real hardware at home as well as a virtual machine (VMWare Server)
at the office.
The 2.6.18 kernel doesn't have this bug, and 2.6.22-3-686 didn't either.
Because this rmmod capidrv is issued on "/etc/init.d/capiutils stop",
this bug bit me when rebooting the machine with the ISDN card: It simply
hung instead of rebooting.
I did a screen capture of the oops. Please have a look at the
attachment.
