Bug#663164: linux-image-3.2.0-1-amd64: unable to mount a filesystem on a known working sata drive in an external usb enclosure.
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 3.2.6-1
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
i am unable to mount a filesystem on a known working sata drive in an external usb enclosure. enclosure is newegg item # N82E16817392032. this is the second enclosure that i've tried, as i RMA'd the first one thinking it was just defective. the first one exhibited the same behavior.
i can make a partition label and filesystem using parted (i also tried with fdisk and mkfs.ext4), but i cannot mount filesystem. i have tried both gpt and msdos partition layouts, with several different filesystems, but no luck.
xfce does not show the drive when plugged in, nor can i manually mount the disk. i can list the disk layout with parted or fdisk though.
