Bug#654822: linux-image-3.1.0-1-amd64: boot sometimes frozen with "iwlagn 0000:0c:00.0: Refused to change power state, currently in D3"
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 3.1.6-1
Severity: normal
The boot sometimes freezes with the message:
"waiting for /dev to be fully populated."
After removing the "quiet" option for the kernel in the GRUB config,
I've found that the freeze occurs with the last message:
iwlagn 0000:0c:00.0: Refused to change power state, currently in D3
I've attached a photo of the last boot messages.
This has occurred twice after I removed the "quiet" option. The first
time, my laptop was on battery, and the second time it was on power
with the adapter. In both cases, the radio was disabled (RF_KILL).
Note: I first reported the "waiting for /dev to be fully populated."
problem as bug 649033, but there could be multiple causes, and other
users posted other causes. Perhaps this bug 649033 should be closed
or could remain opened as a "tracking bug".
