Try removing or disabling VirtualBox.

I removed VirtualBox, same result.
Any thoughts?

I tried to modify i915-kms.conf, no changes in hibernation behavior.

Thanks for the update, and sorry for the slow reply.

Is this still reproducible with current squeeze kernels? If so,
would you be interested in pursuing a fix there (e.g. if we provide
patches to test)?
