Default Bug#463653: linux-modules-2.6.18-6-xen-amd64: e1000 doesn't work any more

Package: linux-modules-2.6.18-6-xen-amd64
Version: 2.6.18.dfsg.1-17etch1
Severity: important

With the update to 2.6.18-6-xen-amd64 the e1000 module doesn't seem to
work any more.

I found the following in the kern.log when trying to load the kernel
module:

Feb 1 16:33:35 urd kernel: e1000: 0000:08:00.0: e1000_probe: PHY reset is blocked due to SOL/IDER session.
Feb 1 16:33:35 urd kernel: e1000: 0000:08:00.0: e1000_probe: The EEPROM Checksum Is Not Valid
Feb 1 16:33:35 urd kernel: e1000: probe of 0000:08:00.0 failed with error -5

TIA

Martin
