Bug#516382: tg3: incoming ssh fails with "Corrupted MAC on input"

Package: linux-image-2.6.26-1-alpha-generic
Severity: normal

I experiences this problem with linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 (2.6.32-15) after
which I activated the workaround mentioned here
(pre-up ethtool -K eth0 rx off)

Since then (11th July 2010) I never had this problem again.

Today I removed above workaround to see if the problem is still reproducible
with linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 (2.6.32-27).

Regards,
Thomas

Today the problem showed up the first time since removing above
workaround. This time it was an outgoing SSH connection, but with
much incoming data (connection forwarding to http proxy).

I am running linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 (2.6.32-28) since 28th November.

Thomas

Thanks. That sounds like a different bug than Thibaut discovered,
since Thibaut's was always immediately reproducible. Could you file
a new bug?

Thanks,
Jonathan

I'm just curious about the current status: do you still have access
to a machine reproducing this? If so, do you know if squeeze or
wheezy is affected?

Thanks for your awesome porting efforts, btw.

Sorry for the trouble,
Jonathan

I still have the machine but it's stuck on lenny with a 2.6.18 kernel
because since it's a remote machine, having trouble with networking is
a major inconvenience...

I don't really have time to play with it nowadays, but if somebody
wants to try it out I can probably arrange for remote access.

Cheers,
T-Bone

I'd be happy to try if there's some kind of remote interface for
interacting with the bootloader and rebooting.

Thanks,
Jonathan

There is. I'll get in touch with you again later this week, I'm
currently on vacation ;)

Received and confirmed I could access the console and so on, thanks.
I hope to get more time for this (e.g., learning how to use aboot)
soon.
