Even with the correct filename I get the error

:~/linux-kbuild-2.6$ ./debian/bin/genorig.py ../linux-2.6.36.tar.bz2

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean. Have I done somethong wrong? The
building process cannot proceed after this failure.
