Bug#597429: linux-image-2.6.32-5-686: firefox often crashes whole system
Package: linux-2.6
Version: 2.6.32-21
Severity: important
Tags: squeeze
I downloaded firefox 3.6.9 from mozilla.org. While surfing, especially when big images (2mb) are loaded into the tabs,
firefox often happens to freeze the WHOLE SYSTEM. I cannot enter a konsole and pushing the powerbutton is also useless.
The last time firefox freezed my sys the kernel displayed a backtrace:
I have a radeon 9600 XT with the free radeon driver and firmware-linux-free and firmware-linux-nonfree installed.
This bug happens very often when using the downloaded firefox instead of iceweasel (which very seldomly, but sometimes
also freezes my system). A single program should not be able to do that (since it does not freeze only the X-server, but the whole system).
