there were two changes for i915 in 2.6.35-rc6 that could be related to
this bug.

We have already decided to apply these in 2.6.32-19, but it's not clear
exactly which bug reports relate to this bug as the symptoms are
various.

Note that #573144 was originally reported against a much older kernel
version (2.6.32-5) and may well have been fixed already.
