Bug#573624: Intel Wireless WiFi Link 1000 Series doesn't load wlan0

Package: linux-image-2.6-686
Version: 3
Severity: normal
On my Acer Aspire 1810TZ, Using linux-image-2.6 wlan0 is not
created. I tried with Debian/Unstable Live, created with LiveHelper
scripts from a memory stick. The system also includes the packages
firmware-linux and firmware-iwlwifi.

The lsmod shows that the iwl modules are loaded.

Using Ubuntu with kernel 2.6.31-20-generic works fine concerning this
driver. Though I prefer to use the Debian/Unstable release on this
system.

As I do not know if I am doing something wrong or it really concerns a
bug, any help or direction is appreciated.

Here the output of dmesg:

Which versions?

Please also send the output of:

ip address show
cat /proc/net/dev
cat /etc/network/interfaces

In future, please submit bugs using reportbug and specify the kernel
image package (e.g. linux-image-2.6.32-3-686) not the metapackage
(linux-image-2.6-686). This will automatically include useful system
information without the need for further questions.

If God had intended Man to program,
we'd have been born with serial I/O ports.

Max, that won't work due to bug #571983. I already requested specific
information.

Ben.
