woow that is old, please checkout out linux-image-2.6.32-3-amd64
from unstable and see if you can reproduce, remember this fixed
but could be wrong.

the added benefit for reporting to Debian is that as soon as the bug is
fixed upstream, the kernel maintainers see it and so know it as
candidate for backporting.
