Hi,

This is a duplicate of Bug#568823, already reported by the OP,
and already tagged pending. Secondly, none of these bugs actually exist
in kernel-package anymore, since it no longer is using the ancient
versions of the scripts that linux-2.6 is apparently using. Could y'all
be a bit less hair trigger about assigning bugs to k-p?

Thanks,

manoj

We're busy getting rid of them too, thanks.

The OP asked us to report the bug, so I assumed he didn't.

Ben.

Make three consecutive correct guesses and you will be considered an expert.

Dear Ben,

You wrote:

Seems you did not pay attention to
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=568317#86
written a week before your cloning:

>> Seeing your reluctance to "talk" to kernel-package, I now reported
>> Bug#568823.

Of course none of this matters at all. Kernel-package is now "fixed",
linux-2.6 will be fixed sometime in the far future and wrongly because
they speak about repeated patterns not about "reasonable" perl code.
But it all does not matter because no-one seems to care much about
Debian stable (currently lenny) ... oh well, will patch myself.

Cheers, Paul

That's great news.

Well, isn't that why we have reportbug?

In any case, can we agree that the code bases have diverged to
the extent that a bug in linux-2.6 no longer translates to a similar
bug in k-p, and thus no longer needs to be cloned, unless there is
first hand evidence that the same problem applies?

I certainly think so, and thus no longer follow the
debian-kernel mailing list with any modicum of attention.
