Default Bug#568755: please backport the macvtap driver

Package: linux-2.6
Severity: normal
Tags: patch

macvtap allows simpler and more efficient host network configurations
for kvm guests.

http://patchwork.kernel.org/patch/60811/

(The patch is not yet upstream but it is expected to be merged as soon
as the next merge window is opened. If you want to wait then the bug can
serve as a reminder.)

Wrong URL, the right patches are:

http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.network/150419/focus=150661

and they have been merged in net-next-2.6 so maybe they can be pulled
sooner?

Done.

Now you owe me a patch for the input/uinput naming thing. :-)

Ben.

Once a job is fouled up, anything done to improve it makes it worse.
