Default Bug#533885: Stops booting with message that it cannot load av7110/bootcode.bin

Package: linux-2.6
Severity: normal

Hello,

Without bootcode.bin file, the kernel boots normally and an error is
reported.

[ 19.233212] dvb 0000:08:00.0: firmware: requesting av7110/bootcode.bin
[ 19.300617] dvb-ttpci: Failed to load firmware "av7110/bootcode.bin"

With bootcode.bin from package firmware-linux-free, firmware is loaded
and everything is fine.

Thanks,

Laurent

Sorry, I should have been more explicit.
There were kernel lockups without firmware.
Now, you're right, everything is fine, even without firwmare.
