Bug#550665: linux-image-2.6.30-2-amd64: probable snd-hda-intel ALSA driver regression; controls now missing
Package: linux-image-2.6.30-2-amd64
Severity: normal
I might not know much about this, but I suspect this is some kind of regression involving a number of HDA chips. I read numerous reports of people using HDA with now-missing audio controls.
The controls used to be identified differently, and there used to be more controls. The speakers also used to mute when I plugged in headphones, and unmute when I unplugged the headphones. This no longer works.
I've tried changing the module model options (model=testing, etc.) with no success. Still the same controls missing.
Previous kernels do not exhibit this behaviour; Controls show up as expected, the system identifies when headphones are plugged/unplugged and acts accordingly.
I'm not sure if it is relevent or not, but "cat /proc/asound/card0/codec#0 | grep Codec" used to report "Conexant CX20549 (Venice)", but now reports "Conexant ID 5045".
I figured my issue was similar enough to the previously reported one that they were likely related.
