The problem also occurs after a reboot.
I tried it twice this evening and both times the filesystem got corrupted.

Greetings,
Andy

Default Bug#550977:

Hello,

I also happen to suffer from the same bug. Same card, the Mobility
Radeon 7500, but different laptop: ThinkPad R51.

glxgears works with a similar warning to the one already posted:

*********************************WARN_ONCE******** *************************
File radeon_tcl.c function radeon_run_tcl_render line 499
Rendering was 79 commands larger than predicted size. We might overflow
command buffer.
************************************************** *************************

Any other OpenGL program more complex than that, like Blender or
World Of Goo fails: sometimes freezes, sometimes segfaults... and then the
filesystem gets corrupt, so I can only reboot and launch fsck in order
to recover it.

Sorry for the delaying in answering this report.

Have you tested Linux 2.6.31 yet? This is the current version in
unstable.

Ben.

Hi Ben,

I tried yesterday that .deb from Sid. Blender keeps segfaulting and
WorldOfGoo shows corrupted textures and then hangs. Luckily, I could be
able to use Alt+SysReq S,U,B in order to avoid the filesystem
corruption.

I have also tried the system on Gentoo. The combination of kernel 2.6.30
and mesa 7.5.1 works, but upgrading mesa to 7.6.1 (Gallium disabled)
also locks Blender.

Default Bug#550977:

Hello,

I can confirm that file-system corruption happens with 2.6.31-1-686 too.

It may be subjective but it seems to me that it happens with 2.6.31 less
often then it did with 2.6.30.

If no file-system corruption occurs, then the apps which I tested
(googleearth, Max Payne) sometimes crashing with:

drmRadeonCmdBuffer: -22. Kernel failed to parse or rejected command stream

very similar to bug #551393

or they crash and all other applications which I try to start after that
make a Segmentation fault.

Greetings,
Andy

Since this is not a Debian-specific bug, please report this upstream at
<http://bugzilla.kernel.org>. An upstream developer (probably David
Arlie) can then ask you for any additional information needed to debug
the problem. Let us know the bug number so we can track it.

There are a large number of changes to Radeon in Linux 2.6.32, which is
now in sid, so it is possible that this bug has already been fixed. So
please also try the latest Debian kernel package.

Ben.
