Bug#534880: linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686: domU crashes
Hi,
I recently upgraded my Etch dom0 to a Lenny dom0. Since this time, one
of my virtual machines crashes from time to time. This VM has 8 VCPUS.
The VM is configured with on_crash="destroy" and so I've never seen her
hang because the Hypervisor destroys the machine immediately. After 3
incidents of this type (the Etch dom0 had been running for more than one
year without any issue) in 2 weeks (the VM crashed yesterday and today),
we have restarted the Xend with the dump-core option on and I have
started playing with the generated core (by crashing another VM with a
module triggering a Kernel panic).
I have rebuilt a "linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen package with
CONFIG_DEBUG_INFO." (thanks Valentin for the hint) but I'm not sure the
image has xen built-into it (I apt-get sourced the
linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686 package, but I think that building the Xen
kernel out of it requires some special options other than a ):

I think you may be running into #542250, not this bug. Please try
installing the version of linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686 in
stable-proposed-updates, which fixes that bug. You'll need to add this
line to /etc/apt/sources.list:
deb http://ftp.debian.org/debian/ stable-proposed-updates main

Bug#534880: linux-image-2.6.26-2-xen-686: domU crashes
Hi,
I also have this bug with 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 kernel. (from proposal-updates)
I noticed that the domUs locked when i'm using vcpu>1 option.
If you take a visit to here:
http://kepfeltoltes.hu/view/091125/xen1.padmin-memory-day_www.kepfeltoltes.hu_.png
You can see, that the domU apps filling memory. The situation is the
same, as others
write it before. I can't use the domU, can't shutdown, just can destroy it.
I hope i helped with memory graph.
