Default Bug#499404: installation: During dist-upgrade from stable to lenny, etchnhalf kernel is removed.

Package: installation
Severity: important

During an apt-get dist-upgrade from stable to lenny -

Was told that the currently running linux-image was about to be removed, and asked to confirm the action.
I selected No, but linux-image was removed anyway.

I didn't notice this until after rebooting, and it had been the only installed kernel (I know, a rookie mistake), hence this report is being made from a different, but similarily configured system.

I believe the linux-image version was 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-amd64.

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 4.0
APT prefers stable
APT policy: (500, 'stable'), (99, 'testing')
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash
Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-etchnhalf.1-686
Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)
