Default Bug#484779: linux-image-2.6.25-2-amd64: enable access to acpi battery/ac info via (deprecated) /proc files

Package: linux-image-2.6.25-2-amd64
Version: 2.6.25-4
Severity: normal

Please, reintroduce (now deprecated) option CONFIG_ACPI_PROCFS_POWER=y
as many userspace utilities depends on /proc/acpi/* api, and move to the
sys power interface take some time. So please, enable both /proc and
/sys interface to power infos untill this settle down.

The affected package is klaptopdaemon. Since lenny will ship with KDE 3.5.9,
you cannot expect any changes in the internals of this package anymore. KDE
4 is fixed, I think.

The deprecation window from 2.6.24 to 2.6.25 is much too short for these sort
of things. Unless the kernel option breaks major other things, I strongly
suggest you turn it back on. Otherwise Debian lenny with KDE is not going to
be a reasonable option on laptops.

no it was already unset in 2.6.24, every other major desktop got it.
and if you read planet.debian.o you'll see that the kde team has a
replacement.
