That's not very useful, you need to install libqt4-dbg before
generating the backtrace.

glib is used internally by Qt and provides a backend for its event
loop. This has been there for a long time. It is used to make
glib-based libraries integrate nicely in Qt applications.

Hmm.. I'm actually using Qt 4.7.0~rc1 from experimental and glib
2.24.1, like you.

Using Reply-To-All as you did, too.

I don't use bluethooth anyway, but just for in case I will install
bluedevil. Thanks.

Regarding myself nevermind, I don't think I even use this. I even don't
know what it does.

I think I need some blacklist entries, see:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243181#c45

Without those I click on something Plasma related and nothing happens
until after a minute has gone by. Combined with high load caused by X
process. Not always, but often enough to be really annoying.

Other than that KDE SC 4.5.1 is really quite snappy. I think its a bit
faster overall. Maybe thats a result of the KSharedDataCache thing or how
it was called.

I don't get the new activities concept tough. I had one different activity
per desktop, which doesn't seem to be possible anymore. Instead now I can
select "different widgets on each desktop" and changing an activity works
globally. But then I do not get what I should use activities for at all. I
now use one activity with four differently configure desktops and be done
with it. At least that zooming activity user interface that lagged so much
and had lots of bugs is gone for good now.

However I will follow up on this on the bug reports I created regarding
activities in KDE 4.4 or create new ones - upstream.

Upgraded to qt 4.7, but it did not help (the above backtrace is with qt 4.7)

Sorry, other backtrace was Digikam. Now Marble and also with installed
libglib dbg package - I thought it was installed cause some function in it
were detected, but it wasn't. DrKonqi says not useful, but I do not see
what dbg package is still missing. apt-cache search marble dbg doesn't
yield any result:

Digikam again with glib dbg package installed. This crash might be related
to the marble crash as well. At least that marble widget appears in this
backtrace, too:

Hmm, I have found a cure. Checking digikam I have seen, that digikam
depends on libmarblewidget4 (which is kde 4.4.5) and marble depends on
libmarblewidget10 (which is kde 4.5.1).
After removing libmarblewidget4 (including digikam) now marble does not crash.

Zsolt

George,

First of all, many thanks for providing these packages. KDE definitely seems
more responsive with these updated packages.

Marble crashes for me on startup too. (Sorry, no useful backtraces as I don't
have the debug packages installed.)

I could get marble working by removing the libmarblewidget4 package. However,
libmarblewidget4 is required for digikam so I've reinstalled it as I use
digikam more than marble!

Is the problem some kind of bad interaction between libmarblewidget4
(4:4.4.5-1) & libmarblewidget10 (4:4.5.1-0r2) ?

Regards,

Matt.
